The Dos and Donts of Using Spy Gadgets
DO test a spy gadget as soon as you get home. Before buying spy devices, read product reviews. They allow you to save both time and money. You know you are buying a quality product with a good reputation. Even still, some devices malfunction or the manufacturer misrepresents itself. Try the spy gadget right away to ensure it functions properly. Most retailers have short return periods. Try the device, even if you dont need to use it yet.
DONT leave your new spy gadget out in the open, especially if you are spying on someone in your home. After a shopping trip, many of us come home, drop our purchases on the floor, and rest for a bit. Dont do this. Are you spying on your husband? What if he comes home and finds your hidden camera still new in the bag? You are busted. Any chance of catching him cheating is gone.
DO get hide all receipts. When buying spy gadgets, dont leave the recipient in the bag put it in your wallet or purse. When you get home, put that receipt in a safe location. You dont want to dispose of it, in the event of a return. Nevertheless, you dont want it lying around your home. Think your wife is cheating? You may buy a hidden audio recorder to monitor her phone calls. Dont let her see the receipt. She will know you are recording her and change her habits, making it even harder to catch her.
DONT play with the spy gadget when others are around, especially the person you are spying on. The thing is that spy gadgets are amazing, literally. The fact that a video recorder or digital camera can capture pictures out of a tiny pinhole is amazing. If this is your first time buying spy gadgets, you will check it many times. First, you just want to look at this cool device. Next, you want to make sure it is working. Then, you want to make sure no one else can really see. It goes on and on. It is okay to look at or tinker with your spy gadget, but only when alone. Dont call attention to the device.
DO read all directions. Many spy gadgets are self-explanatory. A pen with a hidden audio recorder only has one button. Yep, that must be the button to activate the recorder. Not all devices are as simple as this. Not only read the owners manual to learn about proper use, but to familiarize yourself with features. Many computer owners have a webcam that can be remotely activated and viewed. Unfortunately, most do not even know their webcam has this feature. In most cases, we install the software, plug in the camera, and are good to go. Read the owners manual first.
DONT panic if you are caught. By using your best judgment and using all spy gadgets properly, you should not get caught. Most people could actually monitor their family members for months or even years without anyone knowing. In the event you are caught, dont panic. In fact, do not admit anything. It is a good idea to come up with an excuse first. Are you caught with a pen that has a hidden video recorder? If so, dont tell your spouse you wanted to catch them cheating. Just say you saw it on sale at Wal-Mart and wanted to see if it works. Curiosity is not illegal and, in many cases, this excuse will work.
